THE SPIRIT OF EASE
We give God the praise for the great opportunity to see another beautiful gathering in His presence. By the grace of God, what we shall be talking about today is what I titled “The Spirit of Ease.” This is our third part in this series. We started with “Embedded in praise”, “The Covenant of Ease,” and today, we are discussing “The Spirit of Ease.”
The spirit of ease is a spiritual state rooted in God’s presence that replaces heavy struggle with divine peace and a natural flow in daily tasks. The spirit of ease is the Spirit of God that makes you execute tasks with ease, speak with ease, work with ease, think with ease, and act with ease. It brings peace and calmness into one’s life when others can be finding things difficult.
You will wonder why others get things done easily and others don’t. Some will go to school to only listen to the teacher and understand with ease, while some will write down and also listen but to no avail.
Some pray and study God’s word with ease and never find it difficult to do so, but some see prayer and the word as a burden.
The spirit of ease possessing you is what will make you to become the amazement of others in a positive way, because what is impossible in the doings of others is what you will do with ease. No wonder the disciples were in awe when they saw how Jesus rebuked the winds and the sea with ease.
The life Jesus has given to us is the life of ease, and when He breathed His spirit upon us, He breathed His Spirit with ease so that we will no longer operate with difficulties in life. But what has been made available to us has not been embraced the way it ought to, and that is why we have not been possessed by the Spirit of Ease the way we ought to be.
As a child of God, you should not be comfortable on your journey without having the part of the Holy Ghost that gives ease to possess you in all you do. The Holy Spirit operates in diverse ways, and He never struggles to operate as all His operations come with ease.
When He comes through the wind, He comes with ease. When He speaks, He speaks with ease. When He possesses, He does it with ease. So He is the ease we are talking about here. You cannot want ease without having to yield yourself to the Holy Spirit.
If you do not want to live your life in struggles—in other words, having difficulties in the midst of your endeavors, having difficulties to walk the walk and operate in the abundance of what God has made available to us—you have to yield yourself to the Holy Spirit to breathe ease upon you.
And when the spirit of ease comes upon you, it works along with the covenant of ease. And in the midst of fear, you will be still. You will be calm. In the midst of travails, you will find tranquility. I heard of a man whose car was stolen at gunpoint, who ended up praising the Lord and dancing. And people asked him, “What makes you to be dancing and praising the Lord?”
Then he said, “Thank God that it was the car that was stolen and not his life. Thank God that he has something that could be stolen. And lastly, thank God that he was not the thief that stole the car.” In the midst of panic and fear, he praised God with ease.
Operating with spiritual ease means stopping unnecessary striving and letting go of self-reliance during trials…
When you have the spirit of ease, it will be easy for you to praise God in the midst of panic and fear. It will be easy for you to seek His face, to pray His word, to read His word. The Bible says though David was troubled by Saul, facing intense pressure from Saul, but because of the spirit of ease, he found solace with God. His mind is at ease with his God.
Beloved, when the spirit of ease is upon you, the Lord will make the gigantic mountain hard to climb easy for you to climb. Your one will chase a thousand and your two will put ten thousand to flight.
Others find it difficult to confront Goliath, and David dealt with him with ease. When the spirit of ease comes upon you, entanglement will mean nothing to you. Life puzzles will be solved so easily. What others are spending years to do will be done in days for you. While others are running and hiding behind caves because of their giant, you will have a way to go.
This same Spirit of ease made David slay his ten thousands while Saul slew his thousands. The Spirit of ease made Jesus sleep comfortably in the boat, and when woken up, He rebuked the wind and the sea and they remained silent. That happened with ease, somebody.
The spirit of ease brings effortlessness. And even though you may find yourself in a dry land, with ease you shall draw water from the well of salvation. With joy, you shall draw water from the well of salvation.
Somebody here today, you need the spirit of ease to come upon you. The church needs to yearn for the Spirit of ease to come upon the church so that, with ease, we will conquer the world for Jesus, with ease we will bring many to Christ.
In Genesis 30:43, because the spirit of ease was on Jacob, even when Laban thought he would not be multiplied, God made Jacob multiply with ease, irrespective of Laban’s opposition. The strategy of multiplication was released unto Jacob.
In Exodus 1:19, the midwives told Pharaoh, “The Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian. They carry grace called ease. They are lively. They give birth with ease. Even before we, the midwives, get to them, they already deliver the baby.”
Somebody here, what you carry must be delivered with ease. Enough of the toiling. Enough of the winds and the seas storming your boat. With ease you must sail. With ease you must bring forth. I declare today, let the Spirit of ease come upon you in Jesus’ name.
The Bible says in Isaiah 37:3 that Hezekiah compared his people to a woman in labor who has reached the moment of birth but is too exhausted or weak to deliver the child. But when the spirit of ease took control of the situation by the word of Isaiah, the rumors and rumbles of war came to an end and the enemy was put to shame.
