What is a covenant? We know a covenant to be a formal, binding agreement, promise, or contract between two or more parties. And from the Bible perspective, it is a solemn, binding promise and relationship between God and humanity, similar to a sacred partnership which goes beyond a simple legal contract.

These covenants are made for men to be at ease, that God will always come through for them, as His word never falls to the ground. And among every covenant made by God to men, is the one we want to talk about today—the covenant of ease.

The covenant of ease is the commitment of God to lighten our burdens and give us rest. It is also to give us direct knowledge of the Father so that no one will have to know the Father for you. Even though some still find themselves in the state of having someone know the Father for them after the Father had come in the body of Jesus Christ to reveal Himself to us. Amen.

There is a direct access that the covenant of ease made by God to us gives to us, which gives everyone, irrespective of your age or gender, the access to see God, to know God, to become intimate with God.

This was once rare in the time of the Old Testament, as we know that it was difficult for people to have direct access to their God, and nearly every obligation was done by a set of chosen people for others.

The one that caught my attention the most is people driving many miles just to go and confess their sin with sprinkled animal blood for the atonement of sin. And imagine if that is what is still happening today and now, beloved!

So unlike the old covenant, which was external, on the body, and written on stone, God decided to enter into a new covenant that involves an internal change, which will be written on the hearts of believers.

This covenant brings ease, restores, and renews His relationship with us and also offers hope and transformation to us again. Because I can assure you that the hopeful can become hopeless based on the weighty yokes upon their neck.

The rich can become poor based on the multiple atonements of sin that happen through the sacrifice of animals. And that is why no other covenant has been sufficient to give man the ease of forgiveness and relationship like the one declared by Yahweh.

For the covenant is backed by God’s own signature, which is the oath He swore by Himself, and that guarantees that His word never fails.

That said, the covenant of ease is a prevailing peace that God gives to His people after defeating their enemies. The Bible says in 2 Samuel 7:1 that God gave David rest from all his enemies all around, and that is because David entered into a covenant initiated and made available by God to him.

Beloved, there is a new covenant that has been initiated by God, it is called a covenant of ease. Its effectiveness was assured and found in the fruition of the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In this new covenant, a new law of ease was placed in our mind, written in our hearts to give us new motivations of the mind, will, emotion, and spirit. In this new covenant, you do not have to be persuaded before knowing that Jesus is Lord. In this new covenant, there is no more sacrifice of blood.

There is no more driving many miles to Jerusalem for an atonement of sin. There is no more priest seeing God on your behalf. You are now a part of a “royal priesthood” (1 Peter 2:9) with direct access to the throne of grace. For in this covenant, your iniquities are forgiven and your sin will be remembered no more.

So as long as you determine to enter into this new covenant of ease with Jesus, you also will enjoy the best that this covenant offers. For I can assure you that no other covenant under heaven can come with ease as what we have in Jesus Christ.

Hence the reason you must embrace what God is offering to you in freewill. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28: “Come to Me, folks. Come and enter into a covenant of ease and you will have nothing to lose. I know you are tired, stressed, and worn out by life. Enter into a covenant of ease with Me.

I know you are burdened heavily—physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally. But I am here to ease you from every rocky passage. I am here to give true inner peace and renewal for your soul instead of temporary worldly relief. I am the ease. I am the relief.”

So for those who have not yet connected and entered into this covenant of ease, now is the time to enter into a covenant made available by God to us. Enough of binding heavy burdens, grievous to be borne, upon yourself.

Enough of allowing the devil to lay on your shoulders yokes of suppression. God is here to give ease to as many as those who are ready to enter into a covenant of ease to them. He wants to be a husband to you, a friend to you, a loving Father to you and all you can ask or think of Him.

And for those who are already covenant, we cannot afford to break the covenant, for that brings disappointment and we do not want God to be disappointed in us like He was with our fathers back then.

And for this reason, we must stay locked in this covenant. Because if the covenant entered regarding what God created, such as the moon, sun, stars, and seas remains forever, I can assure you that the same covenant is available to bring eternal ease to us and we will never cease being a loving nation before the Lord forever.
