JOY UNSPEAKABLE
We give God the praise for the opportunity given to us to see the last Sunday of this month and the last part of this series. We started with “Serve the Lord with Gladness,” “Mirage of Joy,” “Joy in a True Friend,” and lastly, our topic for the last part of this series is “Joy Unspeakable.”
What is joy unspeakable? It is a kind of joy that words alone could not define. It is an inexpressible joy that cannot be quantified by the admiration of this world. It could not be likened to whatsoever we can qualify as joy today outside Jesus.
This joy is derived through our submission to the invitation made to us in Jesus Christ to become one body with Him, and that is why while every other joy could be easily fathomed, this joy we have in Christ Jesus is unfathomable.
Because as we’ve heard from the earlier messages in this series, we say every happiness, every joy outside God is a mirage, and finding joy in a true friend is not in any friend but Jesus. Also, joy that is unspeakable, that has no definition of any sort in this world, can only be seen and derived from our connection to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Why is Joy in Jesus joy unspeakable? Because in Him we are complete, in Him we are made whole. In Him we love move have our been and according to John 15 :11 in Him our joy can be full without comprehension
And this, everyone must understand, as it will help us through all tests of life, because in life, there will be trials. We will encounter trials not because we are sinners but because of the pressure and difficulties that come with the world.
And that is why those who do not connect themselves to this joy unspeakable in Christ Jesus will easily find themselves lacking in the presence of the trials and tribulations that face them. For when the Bible says we should seek first the kingdom of God, the Bible says also with persecution.
And this is what Peter understood. No wonder, while they were persecuted in the book of Acts 5:41, the Bible says they departed from the presence of the council, REJOICING, that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.
If not because of that joy unspeakable that had already become an infilling in them through the help of the Holy Spirit, they would have gone back home weeping, they would have regretted following Jesus. What are the things that come to us as tests of faith and trials today that make us weep, that make us bitter?
We should not allow them to make us weep again but rather to rejoice in the Lord. The Bible says, “Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, rejoice.” So nothing in the always must make us weep and become bitter, but rather count it all joy.
There is a joy inexpressible that every child of God must inherit after confessing Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, for in this joy is how we are going to go through the hurdles of life. Those who do not have this joy in them will easily be manipulated by the worries and the challenges of life, and that can become a stain to their salvation.
This joy unspeakable is what keeps you going. Though you have not seen Jesus face to face, it is what keeps you standing your ground in the day of adversity, counting all things as joy even when you face trials.
In other words, our connection with Jesus gives us an undefiled and incorruptible joy which we can qualify as our inheritance, the type that cannot fade away, the type money could not buy, the type pain, loss, and misery cannot overcome.
Because at one point, every other joy will fade away, but this joy unspeakable in Jesus Christ will not fade away. Every other joy will at one point become corrupt and defiled and also become useless, but this joy in Christ Jesus remains our inheritance till eternity, and that is why it must not be traded for every other derivation of joy.
For this joy unspeakable is what kept us and is still keeping us by the power of God through faith for salvation. Even though we might have been grieved by many trials, by many temptations, the reason why we are not backing out is because of this joy unspeakable.
So instead of tears, we rejoice. Instead of heartbrokenness, we rejoice towards our healing. Instead of us seeing shame in trials and tribulation, we rejoice, knowing that we will one day experience in its totality what God has set aside for us in heaven, which is our eternal inheritance.
So let your joy be full. Let the genuineness of our faith bring out in us joy unspeakable which will lead us to a final positive outcome for trusting God through all the difficulties of life.
We must all come to the knowing
