COME OUT OF THE BOX
What does it mean to come out of the box? Coming out of the box is a metaphorical phrase, suggesting moving beyond your boundaries. This literally means coming out of where you are kept in order not to be useful. It also means reaching beyond the jurisdiction the enemies put you in or you put yourself in because of fear of what may happen. Anything that is in the box remains in the box. If it does not come out to fulfill its function, it remains idle in the box.
Also, some of the stuff kept in the box is kept in the box because we often believe it is no longer needed or kept to be used at a future time, but when it is brand new, the expectation is to bring it out of the box and start using it for its function.
And even though sometimes we may be in the box because we are not needed for a particular time, the expectation is for us to come out of the box we were kept in to become useful when we are needed.
Every child of God must become useful when needed and not remain in the box when we need to function and fulfill the purpose for which God created us in spite of or despite any reason for what kept us in the box.
Sometimes, we may find ourselves in a situation bigger than us just like it happened to the house of Israel under the leadership of King Saul, when Goliath kept everyone in the box, in other words, in the cave. For the Bible let us know that anytime Goliath came out to defy the armies of Israel and God, all of them would hide themselves because they were dreadfully afraid, including the king, Saul.
And that happened for a while until David, whose time ripened to come out of his own box so as to become useful for the right purpose, so he refused to remain in the box Goliath kept the children of Israel in but came out and became operational.
This world that we have can give us many tangible reasons to remain in the box, either as brand new or as a used tool. This world can tell us we are not worthy to function as God wills when it is time to function, and because of that we remain where life wishes to put us.
But I can tell you for free that only those who refuse to be stopped, to become functionless and useless are the ones who will be emboldened according to the power living within us to come out of the box life wishes to put us in.
Because what we have in Jesus is encouraging and more than sufficient to refuse to remain useless when we need to function with our purpose. The blessings bestowed upon those who call on Him should be for everyone, but some of us are comfortable with the crumbs because we do not want to come out of the box, and that is why a man who ought to be a prayerful man is prayerless. That’s why a man who ought to be full of faith is faithless. That is why someone who ought to be bold as a lion is so scared like a rabbit.
David was in a box for a long time, but when it was time to come out of the box and reach beyond, he did not stop himself because he knew it was his appointed time to become useful and not to be stopped by the weapon of limitation set by his brothers and also by Goliath.
Beloved, our lives in Christ are set in motion to fulfill God’s mandate. No wonder Jesus said in John 9:4, “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.”
Now is the time to function with what God has deposited in our lives. We should know that our lives in Christ is the life of functionality, not idleness. It is the life of forwardness and not stagnation. So that said, we are not meant to stay in the box life puts us in or we put ourselves in.
The prodigal son put himself in a box of prodigality, but one day he said, “I will arise and go to my father and will say to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you'” (Luke 15:11-21).
Come on somebody, it does not matter what puts you in that box, be it prodigality, unforgiveness, laziness, fear, worries, anger, stubbornness, and whatnot. You need to make a decision in the name of Jesus to break yourself loose and activate the true you that you are.
Fear is another weapon the enemy uses to entrap someone to remain in the box. Worry is. Laziness is. Procrastination is. Anger is. But with your trust in God, you can reach beyond the boundaries your Goliath set before you.
The devil wanted to keep Jesus within his box with lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and pride of life so as to take control over Him, but Jesus came out of that box, for He is King of kings and the Lord of lords, and no power in heaven or earth could stop Him from fulfilling His purpose.
And we who are His children, we need His strength, His power, His grace, His boldness, and courage to come out of the box setting us back and reach beyond the hollowness of the box.
So, coming out of the box means crying out to God for boldness to face your fear so that it does not destroy you. Coming out of the box means to become emboldened and see your enemies as your bread. The Bible says Joshua and Caleb said, “Do not be afraid of these Anakim, for they are our bread.”
Coming out of the box means that you are telling your fear, “Enough is enough,” by standing on the word and the promises of God. For the Lord has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. You cannot afford to remain in the box but rather reach beyond what the enemies put together for you.
Coming out of the box means you rise up to that tormentor and oppressor just like David did to Goliath, for if you don’t, they will not hesitate to keep you for another forty days behind the cave.
So come out of the box, for the Lord is your Light and Salvation, so no more fear. The Lord is with you like a mighty man. Whom shall you fear?
We gotta derive our strength from Jesus to become unstoppable and break forth for the One who we believed in break forth out of the grave to dwell in His grace
