FRUITFULNESS AND MULTIPLICATION
We thank God for the last part in this series, started from “Multiply Your Praise,” to “The Planted Seed,” and last week, we discussed “Do Not Sleep On It.” Today by the grace of God, we shall be talking about the series theme called “Fruitfulness and Multiplication” on its own, as all roads of the parts lead here.
Fruitfulness and Multiplication is the original blessing given to us by God from the beginning of ages. In Genesis 1:28, when God created human beings, God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply, and as if that was not enough, in Genesis 9:1, after the flood, God gave this blessing also to Noah to become fruitful and multiply.
So fruitfulness and multiplication signifies God’s intention for the flourishing and expansion of human beings. It has never been in the notion of God to not see growth and production, so this ordinance from God is what everyone ought to benefit from.
But we know that after Noah, the people wouldn’t hesitate to abandon their Maker, so what God has declared for everyone over the world to benefit from is now limited and shrunk to certain folks, certain nations, certain families and descendants.
And that is why in Genesis 12, God sought for Abram and covenanted this blessing on him to become fruitful and multiply, and there was reaffirmation of this Abrahamic covenant for Isaac and also for Jacob so as to ensure the continuity of fruitfulness and multiplication of his descendants into a great people.
And this fruitfulness and multiplication is a double portion of blessing that God alone can release to someone that has been favored and handpicked by Him, as the whole world has lost the initial opportunity for all-round fruitfulness and multiplication.
But we know for sure that those upon whom God declares these blessings must have caught God’s attention, which would now make God use His great name to attest His strong relationship with them. For that was exactly what God did to Jacob, and he never remained the same again.
And as these blessings are what many people just like you and I desire today, one thing is for sure: fruitfulness and multiplication are not apportioned unless someone catches the attention of God to the extent of God swearing, declaring, authorizing, and favoring someone with it. Amen.
For there to be multiplication, there must have been fruitfulness. In other words, there must be something in you that must have caught God’s attention, a seed inside of you that will yield fruit that will end up multiplying. As for Jacob, his obedience to the instruction of God seems to be one major seed that makes God become attentive to his status.
So when God commanded him to be fruitful and multiply, it is not only because of the Abrahamic covenant that was passed on to him but because of his obedience in following instruction.
In other words, your obedience to God’s instruction in His Word is your major key to fruitfulness and multiplication.
So the question now is, as much as we yearn for fruitfulness and multiplication, how much are we willing to commit ourselves to become obedient to the instructions Christ has given and still gives to us?
Even from the physical perspective, if you want to disobey nature by planting seed needed to be planted during spring season in winter, your disobedience will cost you time, waste of finances, waste of strength, and indeed, doing that will not bring fruitfulness or multiplication but rather, someone becomes destroyed.
So, aligning to God’s plan and purpose for someone’s life through obedience and diligence is what is needed to become fruitful and also multiply.
What God has in plan for us is beyond comprehension, and if we were to have our eyes opened to what God is working on behind the scenes for us, many of us would have become more adhered to be in alignment with God so that our fruitfulness and multiplication may be guaranteed.
For what God desires is expansion, increase, and multiplication. For it is a must for His glory to cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. So your fruitfulness and multiplication is to God’s glory, for we are His creation.
That said, you cannot afford to think less, to remain fruitless, to diminish, but rather become fruitful and multiply. And for this to happen, our obedience is primal, and because without it, God will not be moved to bring fruitfulness and multiplication our way.
So hearken to the word of God concerning your life. Follow through with His ordinances. Trust in His plan for your life, and let Him lead the way for you. Let Him show you where to go, where to reside, where and when to plant, when to harvest, when to stop, and when to further your journey.
And you shall experience fruitfulness and multiplication beyond the ordinary. I can assure you there is this fruitfulness and multiplication that God will give you that the terror of darkness will not be able to stand or devour.
The type that will make you become a dread to your adversary, for the Bible says no one, no cities were able to pursue the sons of Jacob (Genesis 35:5). This is the fruitfulness God is able to release to you so that your life will never remain the same again.
I pray for you: may you become fruitful and you will multiply in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Even though you might have been mistreated because of your shortcomings, here is the word of God for you from the book of Zechariah 8:11: “For the seed shall be prosperous, the vine shall give its fruit, the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew.”
So God is still in the business of making lives fruitful and also become multiplied, and you shall not be excluded in God’s plan for fruitfulness and multiplication in Jesus’ name. Amen.
