THE EFFICACY OF JESUS POWER

Preacher:
Passage: Mat. 5:23-25

When we talk about efficacy, it means the ability to produce a desired or intended result, and when we talk about the efficacy of Jesus’ power, we are talking about the effectiveness, activeness, and transformational operation of Jesus’ power.

But before we go further into the efficacy of Jesus’ power, we should first talk about who Jesus is – Jesus is the Word of God, representing God in human form, who came into this world by becoming like us (flesh) and dwelt among us. John 1:1-5 and verse 14 confirm this.

He showed us the pathway back to our Maker by reconciling us back to God through His death on the cross of Calvary… (the Bible says He who knew no sin was made sin for us so that we may become the righteousness of God).

And the validation of His handiwork (while on earth) is not limited to His presence on earth only but also the demonstration of His power that proves to those in His time and even till eternity that He is God and there is no other.

This we know and have seen over and over again, starting from the word of God, to those who have encountered Jesus’ power in their lives, and by the grace of God, we also are not excluded from knowing some of the efficacy of Jesus’ power.

The efficacy of Jesus’ power gives us the assurance that what Jesus could not do does not exist, except if He only wants to tarry for some reason known to Him. In the book of Numbers 23:19 – the Bible says “God is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent; has He said and will He not do it, or has He spoken and will He not make it good?”

He has proven Himself that He is not like the worthless idols with eyes, legs, nose, and mouth but lacks the everlasting power to save themselves in the midst of trouble, just like our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ demonstrated the efficacy of His might by allowing Himself to be killed (not because He is a sinner but to release Himself as a sacrificial Lamb for us) by dying and also rising up the third day to make Himself known as the Resurrection and the Life.

But while here on earth, the demonstration of Jesus’ power has been seen, proven, with the production of desired and intended results. In John 8:1-11, we see how His presence and power gave salvation to the woman who was about to be stoned to death because she was a prostitute. In John 11:43 – this same Jesus raised the dead body of Lazarus that had been in the grave for four days.

We see how through the efficacy of His power, blind eyes were opened, the lame and the crippled were able to walk again.

Through the efficacy of His power, He was able to teach with authority, preaching the gospel of the kingdom with authority and healing all the sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics.

Through the efficacy of His power, the introduction of the new Kingdom was introduced and made known to us, the people.

And the intended result of Jesus’ power was not limited to some certain set of people, even though Jesus earlier said that He had come for the lost sheep of the house of Israel, but in Matthew 15:21-26, we see how mercy answered for someone who was not part of the folks Jesus was earlier sent to, and the power of Jesus healed her demon-possessed child.

Perhaps tonight, you are thinking to yourself that you are not qualified but you came anyway. You thought you are an outcast but you’ve come anyway. You thought to yourself, nothing will work because of what you have done in the past, but you came anyway.

If you would seek God’s face for mercy tonight, the transformational operation of Jesus’ power will become effective in your life to change your story as well.

Prayer Point: Let somebody begin to talk to God and ask for God’s mercy tonight… “Have mercy on me, qualify me to encounter the effectiveness of Your power.”

Why do we need His mercy? Because His mercy is the qualification we need to have His power and His presence become active within us. Bartimaeus in the book of Mark 10:46-52 screamed for mercy and laid off his garment to meet with Jesus when mercy responded to him.

And after mercy was granted, the efficacy of Jesus’ power became active inside of Bartimaeus to do the miraculous that made his eyes open. I pray for someone once again, tonight, mercy will clear the road for you.

For this power of God will also be manifested in us tonight. We will also encounter and have the experience of the efficacy of Jesus’ power in our lives so that any visible or invisible works of darkness may become destroyed in our lives for our lives to glorify Yahweh. The Bible says in 1 John 3:8, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”

That said, Jesus did not just come to demonstrate His power for show, but to shame the devil and tell the devil that enough is enough and he has already lost.

(What a powerful name it is… the name of Jesus Christ, our King)

So because Jesus’ power is active and continues to remain active, we know for sure that nothing can stand against anything and everything we command in His name. No wonder the Bible says in Philippians 2:9: “Therefore God has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10. that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11. and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

His name carries power. His Word carries power. His existence is POWER. The Bible says in Psalm 107:20 that “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions,” and that Word that has become a Name is what we shall use tonight.

For the Bible says everything we ask the Father in Jesus’ name, in other words, in the Father’s Word, the Father shall do for us.

Song: There is power in the name of Jesus (2x) to break every chain (3x)

The power of Jesus has never stopped being operational and effective, hence the efficacy of His power, and tonight, this power shall be demonstrated in high volume to everyone among us here, for the Bible says in Matthew 18:19 – “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”

Prayer Point: “Let me be filled with Your presence tonight. Demonstrate Your power in me tonight, let me encounter the efficacy of Your power.”

I want you to know that what you are here for tonight is possible in Jesus’ name. Starting from the salvation of your soul, to deliverance from every guilt of sins and curses, to healings and all that matters to you.

Your being here tonight shows you also have come to touch the hem of His garment.

You have come to have Him heal you, set you free.

Give your life to Jesus today and His power will be demonstrated in your life as well.
