MY RESTING PLACE
A resting place is a place where you find your rest, an abode of comfort, a place where your heart and soul long to be…as much as home is a perfect place for rest, we know today, that many find rest in other places apart from home today for their own genuine reasons
Many chose other places outside home as a location of rest but in the midst of it all, they never became satisfied as restlessness followed them all about even tho they thought they are having a right resting place for themselves and they ended up returning to their resting place called home.
It is expected of everyone no matter where you find yourself to go back to your place of rest, everyone who rise up early and sit up late will at one point find him or herself resting either by dozing off or by going to bed
Even the ark of Noah, that was been driven around by the flood for one hundred and fifty days at one point ended up resting on the Mountains of Ararat,
So as there are resting places for our bodies, for relaxation and more like it, there should be a resting place for our soul which we must be yearning for all the time…
After going back and forth, after running to and fro, after long thought of what is next, after the toiling of the day at work, we should not forget that our resting place should be in Christ Jesus
No wonder Jeremiah encourages us in Jer 6 16 that “ we must ask for the ancient paths and walk in it as that is where we would find rest for our soul and also that is where we would be able to gather satisfaction that we may be yearning for.
Because one thing that we must understand is that since the day we’ve been chosen, the Lord chose us to become His dwelling place, to be His resting place and when we become His resting place, then we will always find rest for us
There remains, then, a Sabbath rest for the people of God. / For whoever enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from His.
