A NEW GLORY

Preacher:
Series:

We bless the name of the Lord for giving us the opportunity to bring this series to an end today. We started with “Created for His Glory,” “Show Me Your Glory,” “From Glory to Glory,” and today, our topic will be “A NEW GLORY.”

As we’ve made mention of how we’ve been created for God’s glory and also talked about how Moses gave us an idea of how we must yearn for God’s glory, and also how we cannot afford to dwell on a partial glimpse of God’s glory but must embrace the full glimpse of God’s glory.

This morning, we are going to dive further into craving for a new glory, so that the radiance of the Lord our God’s glory may continue to be seen in our lives.

When we talk about a new glory, it signifies a new status, a new clothing, a new position, a new reputation, a new vision, a new perspective, a new house—anything that shows a new you from the spiritual and physical perspective is what you can identify as a new glory.

However, even though this is what we are supposed to represent as we are created in the image of God and our God radiates in new glory every day, we sometimes could not connect to the grace and power that ought to bring this transformation to us every day.

We sometimes deviate because we are satisfied with the old glory, because we believe we have reached the climax of what glory could be, and that’s why we talked about going from glory to glory.

And that is why many are so comfortable with the crumbs when what God has for them is a silo. That is why some are comfortable with self-satisfaction when God has planned for them to be a joy for many generations.

As every year comes with its own glory, every child of God must always operate in a new glory, but the devil in its own handiwork is always interested in hindering God’s people from finding themselves in this new glory.

As he tried it with Jesus while on earth, as he did for the household of Israel in Egypt, to mention a few. And here in the scripture we read this morning, we see the assurance of God’s salvation on His people.

Isaiah 62:1 says, “For Zion’s sake, I will not hold my peace.” So it seems God has kept silence earlier because His people refused to radiate in new glory. They dwelt on the old glory and deviated from God who would make them shine in new glory.

And because of this, the oppressors like the Babylonians would not hesitate to continue their oppression unchecked against the people of God. But God, making use of Prophet Isaiah, declared an assurance of Zion’s salvation to embrace a new glory.

Prophet Isaiah would not hold his peace until he saw Zion in a new glory. He made a decision to persevere, notwithstanding all opposition, in rebuking the nation for its sins until Zion should arise in its glory.

He also believed God must not hold His peace or rest until He sees Zion’s righteousness go forth as brightness. What this is telling us is that we cannot afford to hold our peace until we are called by a new name, until we are clothed with a new glory, until God changes our story to glory.

The expectation is to have the glory of the Lord that we are clothed with fill the earth. The latter must always be greater than the former as our God is. Hence the purpose to persevere in prayer and in active efforts of declaration to make sure we are triumphant in new glory.

That said, as you go into this year, you must not rest until you are endued from on high with this new glory. You must not hold your peace until you see a better today. You must not be comfortable with the glory of the past when there is a new name, a new glory that God has purposed to crown you with this year.

There is a glory that would resemble the clear shining light of the morning that God will release to us, individually and as a church, the type that will spread over hills and valleys and also illuminate the world.

The glory that will not make us be termed forsaken any longer. The glory that will not make our lives be termed desolate any longer. We must cry to the Lord to connect ourselves to this glory, beloved. We must give God no rest, just like Moses would not give God rest, until God establishes us individually and as a church.

We will give God no rest until He makes a temple of praise, a praise in the earth, until He makes His glory shine in us so that we can become a blazing torch that gives light all around and shines afar.

I am here to tell you that there is a new glory that you will be crowned with in this year that will represent your better days this year, that will make you testify that this year is better than last year. Receive this glory in Jesus’ name.

So beloved, press more in prayer this year. Press more in proclamation and declaration this year. It has to be our year of new glory. People must see that we are now a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord.

That we are now a royal diadem in the hand of our God. We refuse to be termed forsaken and desolate, but we are Hephzibah and Beulah. This is our decree this year, beloved. Decree this for yourself and for the church of God.

No matter the attacks, no matter the confrontation, no matter the plans of the enemies, we will function in a new glory this year. We have labored, and our grain will not be given as food for our enemies this year.

Our wine will not be given to foreigners this year and even beyond. This glory will shine to put blindness to the eyes of our enemies and light to those who are willing to behold it in the name of Jesus.

Let somebody say, it is my year of new glory. I shine in new glory, I become a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord. Amen!
